26 June, Ode to Gaia Dru Dance Masterclass

Combining elements from the Heaven and Earth Mudra Sequence and the Dru dance Ode to the Earth, this dynamic class is designed to connect us to our precious planet and take action from the heart to spread compassion to all living things. Gaia is ‘Mother Earth’ in ancient mythology.

The class begins with ‘flow-ins’ to warm up, then the ‘dance’ is taught phrase by phrase, giving you plenty opportunity to anchor the movements. A cool-down and relaxation to close helps harness the energetics of the movement.

Although a reasonable level of fitness is required, the class is suitable for beginners to Dru Yoga, and modifications are given for the more dynamic poses.

Booking through Eventbrite link below – with option of add-on for other Dru Dance recorded classes.

Investment includes:

* Live class teaching, 2 hour class

* A pdf/printed outline of the dance phrases and symbology

* Access to a one-hour recorded class, to help you enjoy the dance at home

* A Dru/Weleda ‘goodie bag’ for you to take home, including a Dru yoga CD

24 July- Yoga for a Healthy Back Masterclass

With inspiration from the Dru Healthy Back Programme, this class includes the core movement, stretching and strengthening sequences from the programme, breathing and relaxation techniques to help relax tense muscles around the spine, the shoulders and hips.

Kath has taught the Healthy Back Programme to NHS staff in Derbyshire, with fantastic results – all participants gained reduction in reported back pain and improvement in reported well-being scores on standardised assessments.

Suitable for beginners to yoga and for those with musculoskeletal back pain of non-specific origin, this class is NOT for people with acute back injury or recent surgery (within 2 months).

Investment includes:

  • Live class teaching, 2 hour class
  • Access to FREE on-line video resources, to help you continue the healthy back sequences at home
  • A Dru/Weleda ‘goodie bag’ for you to take home, including Arnica massage oil and a Dru Yoga for Back Pain exercise programme on CD

21 August – “I Believe” Dru Dance Masterclass

Type of class – mixed ability/healthy back and wellbeing/recorded/live

  • I will be teaching a weekly one-hour Mixed Ability General Dru Yoga Class, with focus on spine health and wellbeing. You will need to be able to get down to the floor and back up again, and have a safe space in your home to practise. Following the Dru format, the class will start with Activations and body preps to warm the body, flowing Dru Energy Block Release sequences and postures designed around a theme, and a guided relaxation to finish.
  • From 15th June, the focus will be the Healthy Back Programme for a 6-week series. From 27th July, I will be teaching a six-week series of yoga for Mental Wellbeing classes. All classes suitable for beginners and mixed ability.
  • Recorded classes. Booking on a ‘live’ online class includes access to the recording for up to 5 days. The link to the cloud recording then expires. A small selection of classes are available to buy as a recording, in the ‘add-on’ section of Eventbrite checkout, for example, previous Dru Dance classes, for an investment of £6.

Your Safety

Your safety is important to me. Please listen to your ‘inner teacher’ and do not do anything which you do not feel comfortable with. Modifications are given for different health conditions to help you get the most out of your practice, and you are invited to rest at any point. Please take a few minutes to watch the Dru safety video below, which includes guidance for different health conditions.
